<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic telephone directory management device and management method capable of hiding predetermined registrants in a transfer destination of telephone directory data without individually deleting the predetermined registrants not desired to be seen by others from the telephone directory data of the transfer destination without installing a special application or the like in a transfer source of the telephone directory data. <P>SOLUTION: When the display of a telephone directory is instructed in an on-vehicle device 100 after synchronizing directory data of a portable telephone 200 with the on-vehicle device 100, a display control unit 6 confirms a registration content for each registrant of the telephone directory data stored in a telephone directory data storage unit 3, and displays by a list, the registration content of registrants other than registrants set for call rejection as a telephone directory.
