<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a physical quantity detector capable of preventing an electric charge from being charged on a circuit surface of an IC package. <P>SOLUTION: An IC package 20 has: a magnetic detection element 21 which outputs a signal according to variation of a rotational angle of a valve stem 12; an encapsulation body 22 which covers the magnetic detection element 21; and terminals 31, 32, 33 which are provided so as to be electrically connected to the magnetic detection element 21 and to project from the encapsulation body 22. A cover member 40 stores the IC package 20 so that the magnetic detection element 21 may output the signal. A terminal member 70 is formed of materials having conductivity. The terminal member 70 is provided to the cover member 40 so as to be electrically connected to the terminal 32 for the ground of the IC package 20 and to contact the encapsulation body 22.
