The charge air cooler (10) has a cooler flow region (11) that is formed to supply the air flow to fuel cell (3) of fuel cell system. A cooler flow region (12) is thermally coupled to cooler flow region for flow of exhaust air stream of fuel cell as cooling medium. A phase change material (14) containing stearic acid is arranged in thermal contact with cooler flow region (11). The flow regions are separated partly from each other by a partition wall (13) and partly from each other by the phase change material.
