<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate roll in which a floating defect of a protect film deposited on a surface of a polarizing plate removably can be suppressed from occurring, and a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A polarizing plate roll comprises a long polarizing plate 2 in which a protect film 3 is deposited on a surface 2a removably, and a winding core part with which the polarizing plate 2 is wound around an outer circumferential surface in a roll shape. The protect film 3 includes a coating layer 31 containing an adhesive agent in a central portion of a one side 3a and has a non-coated area in which the coating layer 31 is not provided, in the vicinity of a side edge of the one side 3a. The side edge of the coating layer 31 is extended toward a side edge of the protect film 3 in such a manner that the non-coated area is reduced, and the side edge of the extended coating layer 31 is positioned closer to a central portion of the one side 3a than the side edge of the protect film 3.
