<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of an in-line system which recovers secondary transfer residual toner with a simultaneous transfer-and-recovery system, the apparatus being capable of satisfactorily recovering residual toner on an intermediate transfer body. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100A is configured so that in a color mode and in a monochrome mode, an image forming part 10 for mainly recovering toner by reverse transfer among a plurality of image forming parts 10 is different and in the color mode, at least a part of the toner on an intermediate transfer body 50 electrified to a reverse polarity and reaching the primary transfer part N1a of the most upstream image forming part 10a after primary transfer in the most upstream image forming part 10a is completed is recovered by the reverse transfer at image forming parts 10 except the most upstream image forming part 10a after passing through the primary transfer part N1a of the most upstream image forming part 10a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
