The invention is based on a hydraulic controller for an automatic transmission with a pilot control valve (20) which can be used to set a pilot control pressure which can be conducted as control pressure both to a first valve unit (19) and to a second valve unit (45). According to the invention, the hydraulic controller has a third valve unit (80) to which the pilot control pressure set by means of the pilot control valve (20) can be conducted as control pressure. In addition, a counter pressure acting counter to the control pressure can be applied via a counter pressure line (85) to the third valve unit (80) and therefore actuation of the third valve unit (80) can be prevented even in the event of a high control pressure. It is therefore advantageously possible to use just one pilot control valve to activate three valve units.
