摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production of polyester which uses a Ti compound as a reaction catalyst, is high in the stability of the catalyst, favorable in color tone, and reduced in foreign matters (low in haze). <P>SOLUTION: In the production method of the polyester having an esterification process for obtaining oligomer by making a diol component with 1,4-butanediol as a main component and a dicarboxylic acid component esterification-react with each other and/or making them ester exchange-react with each other, and a polycondensation process for obtaining the polyester by polycondensation-reacting the oligomer, the production method of the polyester is characterized in that the Ti compound is used as the reaction catalyst, and the Ti compound is added to a reaction system as a Ti compound solution which is diluted with the 1,4-butanediol containing a nitrogen oxide not smaller than 0.1 wt.ppm and not larger than 40,000 wt.ppm as a nitrogen atom. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
