<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image display method capable of providing 2D/3D display switching timing in response to the intention of a user. <P>SOLUTION: An image display device includes: an image display section for displaying 3D images and 2D images; and a detection section for detecting 3D spectacles to be used for viewing the 3D images. The image display section displays the 3D images when the detection section detects the 3D spectacles, and displays the 2D images when the detection section does not detect the 3D spectacles. An image display method is also provided which enables the detection of the presence/absence of the 3D spectacles to be used for viewing the 3D images and allows the image display section capable of displaying the 3D images and the 2D images to display the 3D images when the 3D spectacles are detected and displays the 2D images when the 3D spectacles are not detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
