<p>A seal part gets worn or damaged by a bending moment originating from an external force applied to an output rod of a gas spring, and the durability of the gas spring decreases. A gas spring (12) has a cylinder body (20), a gas-accommodating chamber (21), an output rod (22) subjected to gas pressure, and a seal member (24) attached to an inner peripheral part of a rod insertion hole on the cylinder body (20), the seal member adapted for providing a seal between the cylinder body (20) and the output rod (22). The gas spring (12) is further provided with: a guide mechanism (27) having a guide cylinder (28) for guiding the output rod (22), the guide cylinder extending integrally toward the side where the output rod is moved forward from an end part of the cylinder body (20); and a guide rod (22b). The guide rod is formed on an output end side portion of the output rod (22) and is slidably attached to the guide cylinder (28). The guide rod protrudes to the outside from the rod insertion hole (29) of the guide cylinder (28). The guide rod is formed longer than the maximum stroke of the advancing/withdrawing motion made by the output rod (22).</p> |
