A solar concentrator comprises an upper transparent surface and a lower transparent surface. A reflective layer is on the lower transparent surface. The lower transparent surface is shaped such that the reflective layer reflects and concentrates incident light. A second concentrator which is a parabola is formed on the upper transparent surface as an integral portion of the surface such that the second concentrator reflects the concentrated sunlight back to the center of the lower transparent surface. The lower transparent surface further comprises a CPC (Compound Parabolic Concentrator) which is an integral portion of the surface to accommodate the concentrated light and couple it to receiver.
