With a ground fault detection device (1), by executing various functions of a computation control unit (5), two solar battery strings (1031, 103n) are separated from a solar energy system (100), wherein a measurement of one of the solar battery strings (103n) is carried out by a measurement apparatus (3), and the other of the solar battery strings (1031) is charged and discharged by a charge-discharge unit (4) in parallel prior to the measurement thereof. Thus, in order that measuring a solar battery string (1031) may be carried out immediately upon connecting the solar battery string (1031) to the measurement apparatus (3) in a later step, the charge-discharge of the solar battery string (1031) is carried out prior thereto at the same timing as the measurement of the solar battery string (103n).
