摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proof stress prediction method with which a proof stress of a connection part of an upper through diaphragm can be predicted accurately and easily for a steel column-beam connection part with different diameters of upper and lower columns using a connection part panel of a diaphragm type in a straight tubular shape, and a plate thickness designing method. <P>SOLUTION: In a steel column-beam connection part subjected to prediction and design, a lower column 1 and an upper column 2 are comprised of angular steel pipe columns and a diameter of the upper column is thinner. A lower through diaphragm and an upper through diaphragm 5 are welded to an upper end of the lower column 1 and a lower end of the upper column 2 while interposing a connection part panel which has a diameter equal to that of the lower column 2 and is formed in an angular straight tubular shape, between the upper and lower diaphragms. According to a method for predicting a proof stress of the upper through diaphragm 5 in the connection part, an out-of-plane yielding flexural proof stress fMy of the upper through diaphragm 5 in the case where an axial force N acts on the upper column 2, is determined using a yield theory while being reflected with the axial force N of the upper column 1.
