<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a spatial resolution, as well as a frame rate, to be changed in selecting scalability, and also take tasks into consideration in spatial resolution and frame rate selection criteria, making it possible to achieve higher subjective quality and support applications for various terminals. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention aims to make use of any scalable video encoding method for input raw video to perform scalable video encoding by selecting a plurality of space and time layers selectable at reproduction time from a subjective quality database which has stored therein the relationship between spatial resolutions and frame rates with respect to bit rates and subjective quality as a result of evaluation by subjective quality evaluation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
