In order to prevent abnormal generation of heat during high-speed rotation of a radial ball bearing equipped with wave-shaped retainers for which two annular resin components are connected together, without sacrificing the stability of the retainer during low-speed rotation, guide surfaces (8) for guiding in the radial direction of wave-shaped retainers (4) are formed on both sides in the circumferential direction of pockets (5), low-speed-use ball-receiving surfaces (9) are formed in a region on the outer-diameter side of the retainers from the PCD (cylindrical surface Sc) to define pocket gaps in the axial direction when the bearing stops, and high-speed-use ball-receiving surfaces (10) are formed more to the inner-diameter side of the retainers to define pocket gaps in the axial direction which replace the low-speed-use ball-receiving surfaces when the retainers are deformed due to centrifugal force. Even if the total amount of axial-direction displacement ?X of the low-speed-use ball-receiving surfaces (9) on both sides due to the deformation exceeds the bearing rotational velocity corresponding to the pocket gaps (2 times d1) in the axial direction when the bearing is stopped, the pocket gaps in the axial direction are defined by the high-speed-use ball-receiving surfaces (10), so neither of the ball-receiving surfaces (9, 10) compress the balls (3). |
