The toothbrush has a handle portion (1) that is provided in front of the head (2). The tooth cleaning elements are provided at upper side of the head. The outside of the handle portion is provided with extending recess (3) in longitudinal direction. The clamping and/or retractable cover (4) is formed in the recess of the handle portion and made up of transparent material. The fixing element is provided to fix the cover to handle portion and provided with pins. The pins are inserted into aperture of the handle portion.
