The camshaft adjustment system (1) has a control mechanism (4) that controls the torque generation of a crankshaft (2). The control mechanism is equipped with a chain or belt drive and a hydraulic fluid absorbing phaser (9) for adjusting a valve by the force actuated by hydraulic fluid. A camshaft adjuster (6) is integrated in a closed hydraulic circuit.
