PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical information recording/reproducing apparatus comprising a two-dimensional encoding method capable of changing hologram size without changing a pixel pitch of a spatial light modulator.

SOLUTION: An optical information recording/reproducing apparatus for recording information by using holography comprises: a signal generation section for generating two-dimensional data by a two-dimensional encoding method featured by that a lower limit value of the number of continuous ON/OFF pixels in an array with respect to one direction of the pixels of a two-dimensional spatial light modulator becomes K (K≥2, K: natural number); and a pickup for recording the two-dimensional data generated by the signal generation section on a hologram disk.
