<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, system and device including a computer program coded on a computer storage medium for selecting a predictability strategy from a group of predictability strategies on the basis of a business result. <P>SOLUTION: A group of predetermined predictability strategies is received together with supply chain management history data. Each predictability strategy represents a set of rules for determining whether each item of a plurality of items in a supply chain management system should be managed by using a statistical prediction. The supply chain management history data represents a past event in a supply chain, relating to at least two items selected from a plurality of items in the supply chain management system. Each predictability strategy is applied to the history data in order to generate a business result of each predictability strategy.
