<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to configure a mesh network for easily performing creation and removal of a communication node. <P>SOLUTION: A master station 1 transmits a downstream frame received at an upper port S, from first and second ports L and R of the master station itself. A slave station 2 transmits the downstream frame received at a first or second port L or R of the slave station itself, from a first or second port L or R on the reverse side to the receiving side of the slave station itself and at least one of a branch port B and a lower port U. The slave station 2 transmits an upstream frame received at the lower port U, from the first and second ports L and R of the slave station itself, transmits the upstream frame received at the first or second port L or R, from the first or second port L or R on the reverse side to the receiving side, and transmits the upstream frame received at the branch port B of the slave station itself, from the first and second ports L and R of the slave station itself.
