<p>This nematic liquid crystal composition is used for liquid crystal display elements for TN mode, OCB mode, ECB mode, IPS mode or VA-IPS mode, and the like. The liquid crystal composition is characterized by positive dielectric anisotropy and by sufficiently low viscosity that is achieved without deteriorating the temperature range of the nematic phase by suppressing decrease in the refractive anisotropy and decrease in the nematic phase-isotropic liquid phase transfer temperature, while suppressing increase of the lower limit temperature of the nematic phase. In addition, the nematic liquid crystal composition has excellent characteristics such as fast response, good display quality and suppressed display defects, and is suitable as a practical liquid crystal composition.</p> |
