The invention relates to a mixture for producing a stone laminate on a solid base, which can be used for decoration. The mixture includes: an adhesive composition formed by a binding agent comprising volcanic rock particles having particle sizes of between 1 and 5 micrometres and a mixture of a sufficient quantity of polymers combined to act as an adhesive for the remaining components of the laminate; a sufficient quantity of a silicate compound in order to stabilise the composition; and the necessary quantity of water in order to wet the composition and render same fluid. The mixture can also contain other components for the production of laminates or shapes and can be formed as, or on, a slab suitable for use in the construction and decoration of buildings, formed by a laminate of rock made with the above-mentioned mixture and a solid base. The invention also relates to the methods for preparing the aforementioned mixture and the slabs suitable for use in the construction and decoration of construction surfaces.
