<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce electric power consumption by a purge means and reduce the sum of liquid discharged from a plurality of nozzles by reducing a difference between liquid discharge amounts from the plurality of nozzles. <P>SOLUTION: A head control circuit of an inkjet head 4 includes a drive waveform selection part. During purge, the drive waveform selection part selects and determines a drive pulse waveform corresponding to an ink having a larger volume relative to an individual electrode corresponding to a nozzle group having a longer flow passage from an ink supply port 36, from a plurality of types of drive pulse signals which are used for recording operation and correspond to inks with different volumes, respectively.
