<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle detection device capable of preventing deterioration in detection accuracy of an axle even in the case where measuring accuracy of a distance distribution of a road surface part is deteriorated during snow accumulation or the like. <P>SOLUTION: An axle detection device (10) comprises: an infrared irradiation part (121) for radiating infrared rays so that a road surface and an irradiation optical axis cross; a plurality of image acquisition parts (123) respectively receiving reflected rays from a subject irradiated with the infrared rays to acquire subject images; a distance distribution detection part (126) for detecting a distance distribution to the subject on the basis of a plurality of subject images respectively acquired by the plurality of image acquisition parts (123); a background distance distribution storage part (131) for storing a background distance distribution which is a distance distribution to the subject in the case where a vehicle is not included in the subject; a vehicle distance distribution extraction part (132) for extracting the distance distribution of a part corresponding to the vehicle as a vehicle distance distribution from the detected distance distribution; and determination means for determining that an axle is present when the extracted vehicle distance distribution and the stored background distance distribution are continued in location. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
