The system (4) has pipe elements (6, 7) for feeding and/or discharging starting materials and/or products for a fuel cell i.e. polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell, where the pipe elements are made of plastic e.g. electrically conductive plastic such as polymer or electrically conductive additive. The pipe elements are indirectly and electrically connected with mass of the fuel cell. A mixture of substances is passed through the pipe elements, where the mixture includes oxygen and hydrogen. The pipe elements are designed as a part of a vent pipe. The additive is formed based on carbon and based on metal.
