Regulating pH of water at a swimming pool (1), comprises (i) placing an electrolytic cell (21) in a measuring bridge (2), (ii) passing an actual voltage to the input of a control- and regulating device, (iii) comparing the actual voltage, which is associated with pH values, with voltage values, (iv) comparing the determined actual voltage associated pH value with a defined pH value, and (v) controlling a device for changing the pH value of the water, when a deviation of difference between the two pH values exceeds over a defined tolerance range, via the control- and regulating device. Regulating pH of water at a swimming pool (1), comprises (i) placing an electrolytic cell (21) in a measuring bridge (2), which is pressurized with the water, (ii) passing an actual voltage via a tap of the measuring bridge, to the input of a control- and regulating device, depending on the electrical resistance of the water, (iii) comparing the actual voltage, which is associated with pH values, with voltage values that are empirically determined and stored in the control- and regulating device, (iv) comparing the determined actual voltage associated pH value with a defined pH value, and (v) controlling a device for changing the pH value of the water, when a deviation of difference between the two pH values exceeds over a defined tolerance range, via the control- and regulating device, according to the determined difference.
