The device has a heat-driven refrigerating machine (10) whose condensation temperature is high due to a process condition such that the condensation temperature is sufficient for re-cooling a radiator (2) of a vehicle. The refrigerating machine is driven by waste heat of a drive unit and not by driving power. Waste heat of the refrigerating machine is fed into a heat exchanger (9) in the radiator. A container with a carrier substance is utilized during cooling process when continuous cooling operation is required. An independent claim is also included for an air-conditioning method for an internal combustion engine-driven vehicle.
