PURPOSE: A system for inspecting the surface defects of a shock absorber load is provided to detect the surface defects of the shock absorber load by a machine vision image processing method using a line scan camera in consideration with a cylindrical shape of the shock absorber load. CONSTITUTION: A system for inspecting the surface defects of a shock absorber load(1) comprises a transferring line(20), a length measuring device, a foreign material removing device, an inspection jig(30), a line scan camera, a control unit, and a separating device. The transferring line transfers the shock absorber load by one step at a predetermined time interval. The length measuring device measures the length of the shock absorber load in a specific step of the transferring line, thereby discharging the defected shock absorber load. The foreign material removing device removes the foreign materials on the surface of the shock absorber load in a specific step of the transferring line. The shock absorber load seated in a specific step of the transferring line is rotated to a full 360 degrees by the inspecting jig. The line scan camera obtains line images of the surface of the shock absorber load by rotating the shock absorber load. The control unit forms a final image by assembling the line images obtained by the line scan camera, thereby determining the existence of the defects. The control unit controls a rotating speed of the shock absorber load according to a photographed speed of the line scan camera. The separating device sorts the shock absorber loads according to the existence of the surface defects, thereby separating the shock absorber load.
