PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability in fiber connection by reducing sheath cover-peeling work, while holding a protective sleeve and reliably setting the protective sleeve. SOLUTION: In the fiber holder 100, optical fibers 11 are arranged with the tip ends opposed to each other and are fitted to a fusing machine for the purpose of holding and connecting the optical fibers 11 by fusing. A position regulating part 17 for positioning the optical fibers 11 coaxially and a sleeve storage part 29 for storing a protective sleeve 27 inserted around the optical fibers 11 to cover the fusion-connection part are provided on a holder base body. The optical fibers 11 and the protective sleeve 27 can be pressed onto the holder base body 13 by one cover member 71 and positioned and fixed.
