PURPOSE:To enable to control the cooling of the furnace or heated temperature of cooling air at desired values by a structure wherein swirl vanes with adjustable vane angle are provided at the leading-in port of cooling air passages in the device, which air-cools the furnace equipped with high temperature body therewithin from its outside. CONSTITUTION:An opening 4 is provided tangentially to the cylindrical combustion chamber 1 of the furnace such as cyclone furnace so as to blow combustion air in the combustion chamber 1 swirlingly and as well as the air-cooling device 6 comprising in arranging the cylindrical cooling air passages 7 and 7' formed in double layers by being folded back is provided onto the outer periphery of the combustion chamber 1. The swirl vanes 8 and 8' with adjustable vane angle are annexed at the leading-in ports of said passages 7 and 7'. Owing to the structure as described above, when the furnace is put into combustion operation, combustion air is swirled by the swirl vane 8 and flowed in the passage 7 so as to cool a refractory material 5 and the combustion chamber 1 and the cooling air, the temperature of which is raised by cooling said material 5 and chamber 1, is swirled by the swirl vane 8' and flowed in the passage 7' so as to suppress the rising of the temperature of the cooling air in the passage 7. |
