PURPOSE: An apparatus for manufacturing an ingot and a method for providing a raw material are provided to grow high quality single crystal by decreasing detects generated in the single crystal due to dust. CONSTITUTION: A crucible(100) accommodates a first raw material(130). The crucible includes a central part(CA) and an outside part(EA) that surrounds the central part. The first raw material includes a first powder compact(130a), a second powder compact(130b) and a third powder compact(130c) which has different porosity. A seed crystal holder(160) is positioned in the lower end of an upper cover(140). The seed crystal holder fixes the seed crystal(170). The insulating material(200) surrounds the crucible.
