PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent processability, gloss and resistance to weather and staining, consisting of a specified vinyl-modified polyester resin and an alkyl-etherified formaldehyde resin. CONSTITUTION:99.5-80.0pts.wt. polyester resin (a) having an acid value of 50- 400 equivalents/10<6>g and a reduced viscosity of 0.10-0.70dl/g is reached with 0.5-20.0pts.wt. glycidyl group-contg. vinyl resin (b) having an MW of 500-3,000 and contg. glycidyl groups in a quantity of 600-3,000 equivalents/10<6>g per molecule, such as glycidyl methacrylate/2-ethyl-hexyl acrylate copolymer in a solvent to such an extent that at least 30mol% of carboxyl groups in component (a) is reacted, thus obtaining a vinyl-modified polyester resin. 60-95pts.wt. said resin is blended with 40-5pts.wt. alkyl-etherified formaldehyde resin such as methoxylated methylolmelamine. |
