PURPOSE:To discriminate an originating subscriber and to charge the subscriber accurately wherever he/she calls by reading an ID card issued to the subsriber through a card reader attached to an extension telephone connected to a private branch exchange. CONSTITUTION:A card reader 2 and a PB signal generator 3 can be switched by a changeover switch 4 for each extension telephone 1 connected to a private branch exchange 5. When the telephone 1 is hooked off and dialed to call an outside line, the switch 4 is automatically switched. An originating subscriber puts his/her ID card into the reader 2 for read-out of data. This data is converted into PB signals by the generator 3. These PB signals are received by a PB signal receiver 7 of the exchange 5. A central processor 6 recognizes the originating subscriber and charges him/her. In such a way, the accurate charging is possible wherever the subscriber calls. This method is also available with a call given from a from excepting the subscriber's own room in a hotel, etc. |
