PURPOSE: A device determining ping intervals of a push service and a method thereof are provided to reduce processing loads of a terminal in determining transmission intervals of keep-alive messages. CONSTITUTION: A message transmission and reception part(215) transmits a registration request message. The message transmission and reception part receives a registration response message corresponding to the registration request message from a registration server. The registration response message includes an address and ping intervals of a push server. A push service management part(210) is connected to the address of the push server included in the registration response message. The push service management part receives a push service from the push server. The push service management part transmits a ping request to the push server at the ping intervals.
