A connecting device 30 is disposed between a seat body and a base 22 of a child safety seat. The connecting device includes an engaging assembly 31 and a rod driving assembly 32. The engaging assembly 31 is disposed on the base and includes a plurality of engaging members engaged with a plurality of engaging holes formed on a bottom of the seat body. The rod driving assembly 32 includes a rod member and a plurality of driving members. An end of each of the driving members is pivotally connected to one of the engaging members and another end of each of the driving members is movably connected to the rod member. The rod member is capable of being operated to drive each of the driving members to move so as to drive each of the engaging members to pivot to be engaged with or disengaged from the engaging hole correspondingly. Also claimed is a child safety seat having a base and the connecting device for attaching the seat to the base.
