PURPOSE:To effect propulsion in a similar condition to the actual one without causing a difference of rotations between front and rear wheels, by controlling load characteristics of front wheel roller and rear wheel roller, based upon a shared resistance load calculated corresponding to total propulsion resistance load and sharing ratio. CONSTITUTION:When a propulsion test is made on a 4WD vehicle, front wheel and rear wheel are contacted with a front wheel roller 10a and rear wheel roller 10b and a limit value indicating a range in which no rotation difference is caused between front and rear wheels and load sharing ratio in a limit value setting unit 26a. The body is fixed and a simulated propulsion is started and by a load calculating circuit 16 the total propulsion resistance load L0 applied to front and rear wheels is calculated and the load sharing ratio is issued from a division ratio setting circuit 24. A sharing resistance setting circuit 28 calculates sharing resistance loads LA, LB to supply them to a load controlling circuit 30a, 30b and the rollers 10a, 10b are rotated by DC generators 12a, 12b. Thus, a test in similar condition to the actual propulsion without causing a difference of rotations between front and rear wheels can be performed. |
