Some of the turns of one or more mechanical helical springs which are arranged between the wagon body of a railway wagon and a bogey are in physical contact with damping elements. The turns in contact with the damping elements can be located at the ends of the springs or at regions between the ends. In the case of double springs, which are arranged one in the other with spacing, the damping elements can be positioned in the space between the springs at their ends.
