To avoid a tool change for screwing nuts (5, 13) of different widths across the flats, strips (6, 7, 8) are arranged in a basic body (1) of the driver socket, which strips (6, 7, 8) are axially displaceable between profiles (2, 3, 4) on the basic body (1) and have profiles (10, 11, 12) which define a smaller width across the flats and in turn serve to receive in a torque-transmitting manner a nut (13) of smaller width across the flats (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
