An upright for shelf units, having a support connection device, the support connection device having a steel sheet connection profile with an upright limb and a connection hook plate. The connection hooks are designed as tongues which are punched out of the connection hook plate, are bent via a bending groove out of the plane of the connection hook plate towards the assigned support and point downwards in the assembled state. The supports have tongue-receiving holes with tongue-bearing edges. The tongues have a pressed-in reinforcement rib which is of concave design towards the connection hook plate. The reinforcement ribs continue with one reinforcement-rib portion beyond the bending grooves right into the connection hook plate. <IMAGE>
