The upper edge (16) of the light lens (14) is offset with respect to the lower edge (17) in the direction of travel (18) and horizontal lens rows (19) are arranged on the inside. Each lens row (19) consists of concave and convex conical lenses (26, 27) and a prism (29) having a taper which points downwards. Two adjacent lens rows (19) are connected by a stepped surface (20) which is visible from above (32) (Figure 1). In consequence, scattered light which is directed upwards and interferes with the oncoming traffic is avoided even when the production shape of the light lens (14) is inaccurately machined or sealed. <IMAGE>
