PURPOSE:To separate an erythromycin antibiotic with high resolving power, by using a packing agent prepared by bonding a phenyl or octyl group to porous silica. CONSTITUTION:One side of a high performance liquid chromatography column 1 using a packing agent, which was prepared by bonding a phenyl or octyl group to porous silica having a crosslinking degree of 8-13%, is communicated with an injector 2 and the other side thereof is communicated with a chromate type electrochemical detector 3 having two electrodes 3a, 3b. A liquid feed pump 5 is operated to feed a carrier liquid under pressure and, at the same time, a sample is injected in such a state that a guard cell 6 was operated. The sample is fed to the column 1 under pressure by the carrier liquid and a contained erythromycin antibiotic is separated to be flowed into the detector 3. The detector 3 performs the redox reaction of the erythromycin antibiotic and outputs the current value corresponding to concn. to a control apparatus 7 to drawn a chromatogram on a recorder 8. |
