PURPOSE: A sea-island type ultra-fine fiber and a method for fabricating the same are provided to selectively hydrolyze a sea component and to uniformly elute the sea component. CONSTITUTION: A sea-island type ultra-fine fiber is pre-treated with organic acid before alkali reduction of the ultra-fine fiber. The organic acid is acetic acid, formic acid, or maleic acid. The concentration of the organic acid is 0.001-0.1 M. The temperature for treating organic acid is 50-150 deg. C.
