PURPOSE: An antibacterial and antifungal composition against fish bacterial pathogens is provided to prevent and treat bacterial infection in fishes and to ensure superior function over a conventional chemical. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial and antifungal composition for fishes contains extract of Sophora flavescens Aiton, Rheum palmatum Linne, or Rubus coreanus Miquel as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using water, ethanol, isopropylalcohol, methanol, propanol, butanol, glycerin, or butylenes glycol. The antibacterial and antifungal composition has an antibacterial activity against Vibrio anguillarum, Streptococcus iniae, or Edwardsiella tarda, and has an antifungal activity against Saprolegnia parasitica. A composition for feed additives for fishes contains the antibacterial and antifungal composition as an active ingredient.
