PURPOSE:To attain data communication from a card to a card by providing a means reading/writing data stored in the card having a storage medium. CONSTITUTION:In the READ routine, A read instruction signal is outputted to a card unit 140, data is read from the card and stored in a memory. In the data transmission, the card unit is connected to a communication line 150 being a destination via a MODEM 90 and an NCU 110 and the data is sent. When the routine is not in the data transmission, the data on the card is printed out by a recording section 30. In the WRITE routine, items such as year, month/ date, time, place and a name of an opposite party are inputted at first and displayed on a display device 50 and they are stored in the memory. Then the card corresponding to the name of the opposite party is loaded to the card unit. The sent data may be the mixture of character and picture data, they are stored once in a picture memory 70 and written on the card.
