PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging of a nozzle, by providing passing holes having the same pitch as ink jet nozzles to a flat plate constituted of a substance rich in elasticity such as plastic and moving the flat plate along the surface of the nozzle toward a predetermined direction in a surface contact state at the time of non-operation to close the opening part of each nozzle. CONSTITUTION:Each of ink droplet passing holes 4a provided to a thin plate 4 is positioned directly above the opening part of each of ink jet nozzles 3a and the ink droplet injected from each nozzle freely passes through each hole 4a of the thin plate 4 to advance toward printing paper 8. The thin plate 4 is constituted of material quality (plastic or synthetic rubber) rich in elasticity. At the non-operative time of an ink jet printer, the thin plate 4 moves over a predetermined distance and the opening part of each ink jet nozzle 3a is closed by the unopened part of the thin plate 4 and perfectly blocked from the open air. By this method, the evaporation of moisture from ink through the opening part of the nozzle 3a is prevented by the thin plate 4 and, further, the adhesion of dust to said opening part from the open air is also prevented. |
