PURPOSE:To obtain a good image at a lower voltage than usual, by setting a signal voltage to a value or above at which the force acting on a toner on the boundary surface between a toner carrying body and the toner becomes zero in a recording part, and also, the force acting on the surface of a recorded medium side of the toner becomes zero in a non-recording part. CONSTITUTION:A recording electrode 27 is provided on the side where the toner thin layer of a toner carrying body 15 is not formed, and on the other hand, a opposed electrode 29 is provided on the side opposite to the toner carrying body 15 side of a medium to be recorded 31. Also, this device is constituted so that the composite voltage of a bias voltage Vb and a signal voltage Vs is applied between the recording electrode 27 and the opposed electrode 29 from a signal power source 43 for applying a voltage between the recording electrode 27 and the opposed electrode 29. By setting the composite voltage applied to the recording electrode against the opposed electrode, to Vb+Vs at the time of recording, a toner 41 is moved to the medium to be recorded 31, and by setting said composite voltage to Vb-Vs at the time of non- recording, the toner remains adsorbed state to the toner carrying body 15 as it is and an image is obtained on the medium to be recorded 31. |
