PURPOSE:To improve the reliability for the recognition of address information by recording duplicatedly address information corresponding to each sector in plural ID sectors so as to have only to recognize at least one of the sets of address information. CONSTITUTION:Since the address information corresponding to each sector is recorded for plural number of times in a plural ID sectors 1, 2, prescribed address information has only to be recognized at least once in the ID sectors 1, 2. Since the ID sectors 1, 2 are separated by data sectors 3, 4 of each sector, the probability that all prescribed address information are not read due to so-called burst error is decreased. Thus, the reliability of confirming the address information of the ID sector is much increased and in rewriting the data of a prescribed sector, the probability, that the address is not recognized in the ID sector, the address is recognized by the data sector and the data should be rewritten after excess of one rotation is awaited is decreased.
