PURPOSE:To improve the strength and to trap a sulfide by arranging a fibrous reinforcement member in a rubber bellows of a flexible joint coupling type submarine repeater, and mixing a metallic oxide. CONSTITUTION:A core member 50 subject to network structure processing for fibers made of a material such as an aromatic polyamide resin is imbedded in the rubber bellows 38, and a metallic oxide 52 not soluble in water such as lead oxide is mixed in a scattered state therein. In such a case, the core member 50 made of fibers subject to network structure processing acts like a reinforcement of the rubber bellows 38 and the metallic oxide 52 plays a role of trapping a sulfide such as hydrogen sulfide in sea water by means of the chemical reaction.
