PURPOSE:To more easily execute a key input operation by setting a tab to the next position of a specific character or symbol in a prepared document so that a cursor can be moved to the next position of the specific character in accordance with a cursor moving instruction. CONSTITUTION:A key input device 1 inputs a character and a symbol, etc. A document memory device 2 stores a document inputted by the key input device 1, a means 3 extracts a specific character in the document stored in the document memory device 2, a means 4 stores the position of the extracted specific character, and a means 5 moves a cursor to the right adjacent part of the position of the specific character, set to a specific character position memory device. Also, an instructing means 6 instructs the movement of the cursor to a cursor moving means 5, and a display means 7 displays document information inputted by the input means 1, and the cursor. By instructing the movement of the cursor by the cursor movement instructing means, the cursor can be moved to a position separated by a prescribed digit number from the specific character in the document, therefore, the number of times of a key input operation is decreased, and a key operation can be easily executed.
