METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING MACHINE TYPE COMMUNICATION DEVICE BASED ON GROUP IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A group-based MTC(Machine Type Communication) device control method in a mobile communications system and an apparatus thereof are provided to transmit a control signal using a group ID. CONSTITUTION: An MME(Mobility Management Entity)(150) transmits a connection report message to a HSS(Home Subscriber Server)(160) in the process of receiving a connection request message from an MTC device(110). The HSS counts the number of MTC devices attempting connection among MTC devices within a group to which the MTC device belongs and connected MTC devices. Using the number of the counted MTC devices, the HSS calculates an APN-AMBR(Access Point Name-Aggregation Maximum Bit Rate). The HSS transmits a group ID of the group and the calculated APN-AMBR to the MME. The MME implements the quality of service modification process about the connected MTC devices using the group ID.
