PURPOSE: A dummy bar head and a method for controlling a width thereof are provided to easily align a head body with plates to reduce the required time for controlling the width, thereby improving work efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A dummy bar head includes a body(100), an end plate(120), and a fixing member(130). Concave portions(112,122) or convex portions(102,114) are respectively formed at both sides of the body. The convex portion or the concave portion, which is formed at one side of the end plate, is engaged with the concave portions or the convex portions, which are formed at the body, so that the end plate is supported by the body. The fixing member fixes the end plate to the body. The dummy bar head further includes a seam plate at which the convex portion and the concave portions are respectively formed to be engaged with the convex portions or the concave portions, which are formed at both sides of the body and the end plate. The seam plate is supported by the body, and supports the end plate. The convex portions or the concave portions form an angle of less than 90 degrees with the sides of the body, the seam plate, and the end plate.
